The decision to install replacement windows is big and important. There are so many benefits! Caring for your replacement windows is also important, of course. Last week we shared how you can be a master at cleaning your windows. To expand on that, we wanted to share what you can clean your replacement windows with!
Choosing a cleaning solution can be based on many things: products that don’t streak, work well, etc., but another factor that many are considering is what is in the cleaner? Many glass cleaners contain chemicals that some people may want to avoid. So, why not make your own? This natural window cleaning solution is not only safe, but it is also a great way to save money! Chances are high you already have many (or all) of the ingredients in your home!
- 1/4 cup of White Vinegar
- 1 Tbsp of Corn Starch
- 1/4 cup of Rubbing Alcohol
- 2 cups of water
First, boil the water. Once the water has been boiled, allow it to cool.
Once the water has cooled, combine all the ingredients into a spray bottle.
Shake the bottle well.
Then, simply spray it on your replacement windows and wipe clean with a cloth or paper towel.
Natural Window Cleaners can last for up to a month depending on the number of uses. Be sure to periodically check for mold, though, and discard any remaining cleaner is there is mold in the liquid.
Others that use a natural window cleaner use vinegar alone (which has a stronger odor), but in a pinch, you can certainly use it by itself.
